Dear Baptist Family of Alabama:

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We pray God’s richest blessings upon you and yours throughout this Christmas season. I give praise unto God for the tremendous spirit filled annual session of our beloved Alabama State Missionary Baptist State Convention at the Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, Opelika, Dr. Clifford E. Jones, Senior Pastor.

Dr. Vernon Swift is to be commended for the notable leadership he has given as president to this convention and the numerous contributions by he and his administrative team for the support of Selma University. Let me also thank you for your support of my candidacy for the presidency of this venerable body. I am truly humbled by the level of support and pledge to do my best to continue our journey forward, onward and upward in Christ Jesus. As we move forward, I pray that we remain committed to working together in unity to serve this present age to the glory of our God.

I look forward to seeing each of you at our Adjourned Session, to be held at the Hopewell Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. E.E. Rodgers, Pastor, on January 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Each church is asked to register with their best monetary offering as we seek to expand ministry initiatives. During this session, please bring your Christmas offering – each member giving $10 as a Christmas gift for support of Selma University. Remember, “God owns everything and owes us nothing. We own nothing, but owe God Everything.”
